Variety is the Spice of Life

I love spices. I love to cook with them, I love to order them, I love how many different ones there are. I find them to be a great way to add flavor to dishes without adding any calories (or very little) and definitely without adding any fat. One of my favorite places to order spices from is Penzey's; they have a lot of different spice blends that are great to cook with and some of them are more potent than the ones you can get at the grocery store. (In fact - if you want in on the next time I place an order, just let me know. It's better when you can share the shipping!)

I also love an opportunity to get free stuff, and I love telling other people about how they can get free stuff. I also love entering free contests. When I was in college, I used to win things a lot. I won a Palm Pilot and a signed UMass Lowell hockey jersey in a two-week time span once. People started to just assume I was going to win after a while, it was pretty insane.

So what's the point of all of this?

I saw pop up on my Twitter feed today a contest to win a free spice rack from Pfaltzgraff.

Did I enter? Of course. Free spices - does that NOT fit into the two things that I mentioned that I love?

I share it with you - just follow the link below to Fit This Girl's blog entry about the contest, and sign up! I just recently starting following her but I love her posts about ways you can become a better, more fit person (emotionally and physically). In fact - she has a great post about Faith and Fitness that I highly recommend.

One last thing... in honor of this being my first entry in my new blog, if you sign up for her contest through my blog, leave a comment for me and I'll pick one lucky winner at random to win a 1/4 cup jar of Penzey's Brady Street Cheese Sprinkle - my favorite Penzey's spice blend! It makes great garlic bread, and I will throw a couple of other fun goodies in there too. Last day to enter is January 8, 2010 - so hurry!
